october- the month of joy~

September 30, 2009 0
Went to Chloe's baby shower last Sunday. It's amazing how I witnessed Sheryn's wedding, and now even birth of her first kid. Time passes so fast that sometimes you can't even keep track of what's happening around you. It's really during occasions like these that you sit down and talk about past memories and updates of one another.

Crazy klutz clockwise from bottom left:

Also this marks the beginning of my busy busy October. Coming up this weekend is my niece's baby shower & Soo Eng's 21st birthday (Oh haven't buy present for her yet. Headache man~). Then the following 3 weeks for Soo Hui's, Christine's and Xiaoxuan's wedding! A lot of ang pows to be prepared too~

the simple things in life~ ♥

September 23, 2009 0
Sometimes simple things cheer me up. I guess a lot of people will feel the same as me. Found below pics that brightens my day.Had a company dinner recently, though I didn't attend. Sometimes it's gatherings outside of office that binds people closer.

Found these pictures taken at Celine's wedding. So sad that I lost the photos taken that day. That was the last time I really saw all of my beloved M&M colleagues, especially Gerlin, who is kept so busy with work now. I guess all of us are very much involved in our own lives. On one hand it sometimes saddens me that past fond memories seemed like history, on the other, I guess it's these memories that add tinges of joy in the current mundane life and will continue to serve as remembrance of past happiness~

backdated post

September 21, 2009 0
Finally decided to get my lazy arse working. Accompanied Baby to SPGG's gym and started working out. Gym instructor was pretty nice to me. Not sure if I worked it correctly, cos didn't exactly feel the aches after the workout.

Attended ZBBZ's launch at Luxe Museum. Rather cool event. The "flower" I was holding is actually made of candy and part of the lovely fare they provided for the guests.

Went to The Bark Cafe for dinner on Chinese Valentine's Day. The food was so-so, not what I expected, especially after that great experience I had with the JI gang. Even the dessets this time was a bit disappointing. However, the ambience is still quite okay.

terrible work ethics

September 16, 2009 0
Early in the morning, got screamed at by some old auntie at work. I wanted to loan out watches for a photoshoot and went to get it from her. Shouted at me and said that she's very busy in the morning and sat at her chair and refused to budge. I mean, what's wrong with the people here? Can't they work amiably? I mean you can always say that you're busy and come back later. There's no need to scream at the top of your lungs. I mean what good do you get by screaming and making other people's lives difficult? Your workload is still the same and you might get a sore throat from shouting.

I realised that in this company, everyone is the same. People like to shout and scream whenever they are loaded with work. I seriously dun think by doing that, it would do you any good. Just save your effort to concentrate on completing your task, isn't that a better solution?

Anyway I guess I'll have to get used to it or ...

mummy, I love you!

September 15, 2009 0
Mum came to my room to sleep last night. We chatted. Nothing in particular, but it was good. My mum and I seldom have time to just chit-chat. We're not distant, but I guess not particularly close either. I'm always not at home and whenever I'm back, she's probably too absorbed in her TV or she's already sleeping. So last night, I felt pretty happy even though the topic was largely about my brother & niece. My second brother just had his daughter, Tricia! Oh ya, I'm now promoted to an auntie! Feel so old suddenly. But it comforts me a little that my younger cousins who are only in primary school & even kindergarten are also uncles and aunties now!!! Hahaha

As my mum went on with how cute she is and how much she looks like my brother, it suddenly dwells on me that my mum has aged. She's already a grandmother. She's already in the stage whereby she should be retiring, staying at home and helping out with the kids. Unfortunately, the three children of hers are unable to provide for her as yet. Same goes for my dad. Currently at the age of 27, I'm still unable to support them. And the fact that I still need to set aside for my BTO and renovation makes me wonder how much longer do they have to work? Sometimes I wished that I didn't go to uni and could have worked in those years and earn more money. But I guess since I cannot turn back time, I'll have to make sure I worked towards the aim of providing for them by the age of 30.

Sidetrack a bit, some good news to share:
♥ Sheryn's princess Chloe is finally out! She was born on 2nd September 2009. From her photos, she's exactly like her father!
♥ My niece, Tricia Poh, is born on 3rd September 2009, just a day after Chloe. Now I feel old.
♥ Sylvia is back! But I haven't got the chance to meet up with her yet. What a lousy friend I am.
♥ WON ex-colleagues Xiaoxuan & Christine are getting married!
♥ CGS classmate Soo Hui is getting married!
♥ Soo Eng's turning 21 in October~ Finally adulthood
♥ I won at MJ consecutively for 3 days... Friday to Sunday!

Ways to Reinvent Yourself
(extracted from The Malaysia Women's Weekly)

1. Try taking your coffee with half a packet of sugar instead of one - it's a healthier choice.
2. When you dine out, order sparkling water instead of a soft drink. You get the fizziness without the calories.
3. When you have a few private minutes during the day, quickly do reps of lunges and squats to tone your bottom.

it changed cineralla's life, so it will change mine

September 03, 2009 0
I love shoes, much more than bags. Often you hear people say that you can never have too many shoes and bags. I agree for shoes, but for bags, I think you just need a couple for different occasions. I'm a sucker for quirky and asymmetrical designs, and my passion for it is manifested in my clothes and shoes. The "weirder" the design, the more I like it.

Earlier this year, I bought what I thought was the coolest pair of wedgies. And now it's everywhere. The recent ones that caught my eyes are the ones from Moschino Cheap & Chic. It's sooooo me... Oh and I should upload the photo of the recent shoe purchase that I walked hours for.
Quirky design at the heels
Sweet demour
Not exactly my cup of tea, but.... I guess if it came in other colours

Oh btw, Sh3ryn gave birth yesterday at 1102h and my SIL gave birth today♥. Gonna visit them later, cos both of them are at Mt Alvernia...

Woah, I'm now officially an aunt~ Sounds damn old

Feng Shui Q&A

September 02, 2009 0
Saw this Q&A from my former boss. Pretty funny that he mentioned that the ghost he saw spoke Japanese to him.

Is it true having electronics in your house is bad for your chi?
People get sick now so much because of all the radiation from electronics. It makes people feel lethargic, some even start to see ghosts.

They see ghosts because of electronics? What do you mean?
High-speed transmissions with electronics nowadays interfere with the third dimension, where supernatural beings exist. There are more occurrences of ghosts now because of this disturbance.

Have you seen any yourself?
I’ve been able to see them since I was a young.

Doesn’t that freak you out at all?
I don’t find them scary. In fact, one of my pastimes is visiting cemeteries to talk to ghosts, especially when I’m feeling down. They have a lot of stories to tell you.

Like?
Once I was at a famous local hotel, I was in the toilet when someone behind started speaking to me in a language I didn’t understand. It was a spirit. I told him to speak to me in Chinese so I could understand. The voice told me that two people had been murdered in the hotel and they couldn’t rest in peace because the murder couldn’t be found. I was puzzled as to why the spirit approached me. I told him that if he was real and wanted me to do something about it, to get the manager of the hotel to offer me a $50,000 (wow!) feng shui consultation deal. Within a week, I received an offer from the manager. Subsequently the murderer returned to Singapore and was nabbed. (a bit unbelievable)

What did it look like?
You can’t see it. It’s an aura. It spoke Japanese, (huh?) but later we communicated in the language of the netherworld. The guy next to me was freaked out. He couldn’t see anything and wondered who I was talking to.
