It's amazing how small this world is, or rather how small Singapore is. The entire Singapore seemed to know each other.

Let me recount the number of coincidences I've encountered so far.

1. Before I went in JJ, I was in JI for my first three months. Back then mIRC was still very popular (in fact ICQ was still hot). I went into #JJC and got to know someone by the nick IRCguy or something along that line. If you've ever been to #Singapore, I think you would be familiar with this person. Anway so in my days, it's very common to have "net friends" whom you meet up and become real friends. That being said, a lot of people seek out chatrooms as the platform to get to know people and conversely they will exchange their contacts.
So there I was, young and innocent, going to an entirely new environment to study. I thought to myself, I might as well go and find some seniors to talk to to get to know the environment first. So I got to know IRCGuy. We chatted a bit. He didn't leave an impression on me. We exchanged numbers but that was it. The numbers were recorded in my book of contacts, but totally ignored.
Incident totally forgotten and I made quite a number of friends in JC. Joined a most obscure CCA-the Lion Dance. Fast forward to NUS year 2 and I moved to my new house in CCK. Tons of things to bring over and I rediscovered the little notebook that I kept all my contacts. Flipped through the pages and saw IRCGuy's number! Shocked to realise numbers are exactly the same as my boyfriend that time. Which means that IRCGuy whom I chatted with years ago had been my boyfriend of 3 years already! Surprise surprise surprise!

2. Colleague was going through her friendster list and wanted to show me how the boyfriend of her ex-sis-in-law looks like. Dunno how we came to this, but point was, she wanted to show me. Then complicated story that boyfriend had an ex-wife who had a child with him. Linked up and saw his ex-wife. Face looked uncannily familiar. Realised that it was my brother's ex when I was still in secondary school days. How small can the world be? Recalling back, I'm still very amazed how she already had a child and is divorced when my brother was just about to get married.

So many coincidences in life, just to name some that had most impact on me. Along the way, definitely friend's friend's friends... Singapore is soooo small. I should really start to be a good gal, if not who knows, my future boss might be my arch rival from the past...
:P
