Was chatting with some of my colleagues in various occasions and they all find it sad that people do not communicate as often. Think they dislike the idea of updating your happenings in FB/Twitter, the lack of personal touch I guess. Well personally I do not agree totally. I think all this social media are there to help communicate. I like the idea that i still have a glimpse of my friends' lives even though we may not be in close contact (okay, I'm just KPO). But I do think that if you are a very different person in cyberworld as opposed to the actual world, then that's weird. I mean if you are so addicted to the cyberworld that you refused to interact with real people around you, I would think that is super unhealthy.
Another thing I noticed is that you tend to get many birthday wishes in FB. At first I thought that was nice, but when I actually got an SMS from Ann jie-jie, that made my day. It's the gesture of making that extra effort that really delighted me. No doubt, it wasn't a call which I could speak to her personally, but I really appreciated the effort of sending the SMS instead of the FB greeting. And for that matter, my darling Ah Hui & club buddy Steve sent their greetings via SMS too. So then the debate goes on & on.. Is technology helping us with our lives or actually ruining us? Well I guess that depends on how you see things & most importantly, do not allow technology to rule you. You still rule your own life.
Will update on the latest pink stuff I got recently.
