Day 6
So I kinda realised that it was impossible that we could cover everything in the itinerary cos of my lousy body & lack of stamina, I had to streamline and picked only those that I really wanna go. So only gonna cover 3 places today.
So the first stop was 京都御所 that used to be the residence of the Imperial Family intil 1868 when the emperor and capital were moved from Kyoto to Tokyo. It was located in the spacious 京都御苑, a beautiful park in which we got to enjoy a nice morning stroll.
An extremely pretty place that made you feel so tranquil and at peace with yourself except that in between I had an hour I had to resolve SG work problems but you wonder if the imperial family appreciated this huge home. It must have been super tiring to just walk around, let alone the need to go for morning assemblies, meals, etc.
We headed to 銀閣ーじ next opting out of 金閣ーじ as I assumed that these 2 temples probably be quite similar and I've always prefer silver over gold. LOL.

Headed to 清水寺 afterwards. This was one of the places that I really looked forward going to. This temple is part of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto UNESCO World Heritage Site. But unfortunately the temple was undergoing some renovations and we didn't want to pay the entrance fee to see construction stilts, so we just took some pictures at the entrance. Hung around to marvel at the beauty of the temple & its surrounding and we saw lots of girls in 浴衣/きもの. Was a little lazy to take off my layers and change into one but I guess if I ever go again, I would definitely wanna try it out for the experience!
Spent a bit more time at the 東山 shopping district just below the temple, checking out souvenirs and traditional Japanese food & snacks.

Then we headed back to the area near our hotel for dinner!
