So I had this amazing lobster porridge in 2010 at Orchard Central and I've always wanted to return to the resturant. Somewhere along the way, the business probably didn't do that well and I've never managed to do so. So when Kate asked me out for lunch on Boxing Day, I thought it would be nice to savour the memories again. So I googled and was directed to this place 萬合樓 at Maude Road. It was a super old school looking place with 2 set lunches: $35 per pax or $88 for 2 pax & we opted for the latter.

The place wasn't crowded, probably because it was a weekday lunchtime. But every table ordered the lobster porridge, so I was really excited.
Overall food was good but the very item that I wanted to eat was lackluster. The lobster doesn't have the seafood "sweetness" and the meat was tough. The rest of the food was good though.
Interestingly, I realised that the chef here is actually from the Orchard Central restaurant that I loved. Kinda disappointing to know that! :(
