I've always proclaimed that I've a great boss now and I've learnt so much more from her as compared to my last superior who seemed to be more intimidated by me outperforming her. It's not that I'm carrying balls or bootlicking my current boss but I sincerely give it up to her. Being my age, technically even a few months younger, she's achieved so much for someone her age. She's got so much knowledge that I can learn from her. Her confidence and ability to know what she wants & deserves are definitely 'virtues' that I wanna learn. The opportunities & help she's rendered to me is tremendous. The willingness to groom me is also much appreciated!
There was this once time that I was complaining that I'm always working late & on weekends. KK then asked, why don't you quit your job since you hate your job? My answer? I don't hate my job. In fact I like what I'm doing. It was really a genuine case of mere overworking & wish that I could at times enjoy some work-life balance. But that being said, I still like what I'm doing, especially with my current team.
To be honest, I'm really glad to work under my current boss. And she's clearly indicated that she'll continue to push for my progression. I'm glad to sell my life for her, so buck up & continue to work hard Sharon!
